Issue description
There are many things that can be optimized in our build scripts, in terms of feature extensions, code simplification and performance improvements. The Ant-contrib library has a lot to offer in these areas, and given the current size and complexity of our build scripts, it is time for soem refactoring and optimizations that should make our life easier
